This policy explains what personal information Totem Media (“Totem”, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We keep it deliberately short and plain — if anything is unclear, email us at info@totemmedia.net.

Who we are

Totem Media is a brand strategy and marketing consultancy operating across East Asia, with our headquarters in Hong Kong (9/F, Remex Centre, 42 Wong Chuk Hang Rd, Hong Kong) and offices in Shanghai, Tokyo and Seoul. What we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us through the forms on this site. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect any sensitive personal data. Depending on which form you use, that may include:

  • Enquiries — your name, work email, company or brand, and the details of your message.
  • SOCV read requests — your name, work email, brand or company, category, and a short description of your challenge.
  • Report requests — your name, work email and company, so we can send you the report you asked for.
  • Newsletter sign-ups — your email address.

How we use it

We use this information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, discuss working together;
  • deliver the report or SOCV read you requested;
  • send you our newsletter, but only if you asked to receive it; and
  • keep basic records of our correspondence and business relationships.

Our legal bases are your consent (for the newsletter), taking steps at your request to enter into a possible engagement, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and running our business. We do not use your information to make automated decisions, and we never sell it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site and communicate with you, and only as needed:

  • Web3Forms — processes and delivers our website form submissions to us by email.
  • Google — our newsletter sign-up is handled via a Google Form.
  • Vercel — hosts this website and provides privacy-friendly, cookieless traffic analytics.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security measures. We may also disclose information if required to do so by law.

Cookies & analytics

This site does notuse advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) are aggregated and cookieless — they tell us things like which pages are popular and roughly where visitors come from, without identifying you or following you around the web. Because of this, we don't show a cookie-consent banner.

International transfers

Totem operates across Asia, and our service providers may process data in other countries (including the United States). Where information is transferred across borders, we rely on the providers' own safeguards and applicable data-transfer protections.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and request information for as long as needed to respond and to maintain our business relationship, and then delete or anonymise it. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the link in any email. To exercise any of these rights, email info@totemmedia.netand we'll respond within a reasonable time.

Children

This site is intended for business audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the “last updated” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
