Lotus' “Furry Emira” Warm Collaboration w/PopMart

Lotus · Dec 2025

LOTUS × POPMART × Crybaby Activation...

Shanghai West Bund Dream Center

Dec 25, 2025 – Jan 25, 2026

Lotus turning its Emira into a plush, toy-like art car isn’t an isolated stunt. It sits alongside recent auto crossovers like MINI × BAPE, and points to a broader shift underway in Chinese auto marketing.

This isn’t just about slowing sales or chasing attention - although, these issues factor-in. These collaborations reflect changes in how cars are being culturally considered.

Performance claims and engineering narratives now struggle to differentiate in a market where specs have converged, where the deluge of EVs have flattened any performance advantages.

In place of deep, detailed product evaluations ...auto is shifting more towards cultural considerations. Does the car fit my life? Is it fun? Does it make me feel happy?

In a market which has been hit hard with "plush fever" (toys, collectibles), this collaboration with POPMART/CryBaby is right on-the-mark culturally for Lotus.
