Li-Ning launched the Yueying 6 PRO from a fake noodle shop in Beijing.

The idea is that the shoe's "golden bounce ratio" cushioning is comparable to a well-pulled noodle. Chopstick signage, bowl-shaped entrance, zhajiang noodles served on-site, and celebrities at the door.
The metaphor holds up and the physical stations with trampoline, tug-of-war and jump tests — give the cushioning claim something to demonstrate.
But the SHOES x SOUP (Noodles) format is becoming familiar (eg. Nike soup kitchen).

Food is emotional and deeply connected to communities. That's the appeal.
Similar community activations are popping up across all geographies, all scale in China. As more brands run similar activities, the signal is quickly getting diluted.

Brands need to start getting more precise in building culture/category leadership.
