Barbour Turns Heritage Into Immersion in Shanghai

Barbour · Mar 2026

Shanghai | Gate M

March 20–22

Barbour’s latest Shanghai activation goes beyond retail — it’s a multi-zone experience designed to bring British heritage to life.

As Barbour MD, Neil Parker pointed out in his keynote remarks, they even managed to arrange for some good British weather with clouds and a bit of rain ...perfect for a Barbour event :)

To amplify this event, they have brought together a great mix of celebs/influencers from key hubs across Asia.

In attendance are:

- Chinese actress Zhou Yutong

- Korean singer Jung Chae-yeon

- Thai actor/singer/model Suppasit Jongcheveevat

- And guest designer Feng-Chen Wang

Barbour Proves the Power of Storytelling

Barbour has applied real expertise across Asia in bringing its brand story to life, putting heritage on display, and connecting to its British provenance. Its been executing this approach so well across its retail locations and through tactical brand collaborations during the past several years.

...AND...

The Shanghai event is taking this approach and elevating it further

On display are a great mix of branded elements and connections to British heritage:

- The Barbour Tartan (and unique brand codes tie it together)

- Land Rover collab: Using AR to tell the story of the British countryside

- A Brompton collaboration corner: Urban mobility meets British design

- Birdwatching & horse-riding simulations: Functional apparel shown in context

- Dog-friendly rest & photo area

- And a fish & chips stand!
